Head Coach and Assistant Coach

Salary: Depends On Experience (Range £8 - £15 hour)

We are looking for new coaches to deliver various coaching sessions with schools and local communities during term time, evenings, weekends and school holidays with children and young people from the age of 4 to 18 years old. 
 

Main duties will include:

  • Planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating sports coaching sessions

  • Coordinating and delivering high standard of coaching

  • Supervising children and to help ensure that those participants are provided with a safe, enjoyable and learning focused sports session.

  • Assisting in the delivery of skills development, drills and small sided games in accordance with the objectives of the programme.

  • Promoting sessions, activities, events and other services offered by HR Sports Academy

  • Inspiring and motivating participants
     

 

Candidates must have experience working with children and young people (preferably in a sports programme setting), a minimum Level 1 coaching award. We offer training and development opportunities for all staff, especially assistant coaches. Experience working with children and young people, leadership skills, coaching confidence, reliability and good time keeping are essential personal requirements for this coaching role.

Sports Development Officer

 

Contract type: Fixed Term, Part time (24 hours a week)

Salary: £11,280

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Sports Development Officer within HR Sports Academy. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who will help develop and co-ordinate sport and physical activity for the local community. 

You will assist in the development and coordination of sporting opportunities and physical activities with a particular focus on increasing participation and improving the personal development of children and young people. This will involve supporting and developing a range of coaching, training, education and work experience programmes. There will be a particular focus on increasing participation among BAME groups.

We are looking for a forward thinking, highly motivated and organised individual who will help develop and co-ordinate sporting opportunities and initiatives, as well as assisting to deliver and expand a number of existing programmes. You will also work alongside a number of local organisations to maintain the progressive and innovative partnership work already in place. 

The roles offer a diverse range of responsibilities and will require some evening and weekend work.

You will need:

  • A degree/equivalent qualification/ National Governing Body Qualifications

  • A background in sports or community development and experience of delivering a variety of sport and physical activity projects.

  • The ability to work within a team, partnership work, develop new initiatives, set performance indicators and monitor goals and targets. 

  • A commitment to improving opportunities for local underrepresented groups.

  • To be able to prioritise your workload, have good organisational, planning and promotional skills, together with good communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with a diverse audience.
